Ashley Knight

Baybreeze Cafe Live Entertainment – Ashley Knight playing live at the St George Motor Boat Club in the Baybreeze Cafe Friday 8 April from 6:00pm till late.

Born on the Central Coast, Ashley began her childhood involved in surf lifesaving although later at age 9 she found her calling to the stage, when she started dancing and singing lessons with a talent school. From here Ashley realised that performing was her career path and has pursued this course ever since entertaining countless crowds from the Central Coast to the Hunter Valley region and Sydney area in showcases, gigs and competitions.

At the age of 12 Ashley began taking piano lessons and at just 17 had attained her Grade 8 AMEB piano certificate and accompanying Grade 4 Theory of Music at the same time completing her HSC with astounding marks. In this time she had also taught herself guitar and has since amazed audiences with her ability and the raunchy rock image she has created.

Her singing style has been multi-faceted throughout her career thus far, singing everything from jazz to pop and country. Ashley’s greatly renowned by many for her country singing over the past years and has achieved much in the country industry performing alongside Tracy Killeen, Dan Murphy, Christie Lamb and Dean Johnston, with notable commendations from The McClymonts and McAllister Kemp when they saw her perform.

Ashley has been a regional finalist in the Telstra Road to Tamworth, a grand finalist in the Junior Golden Saddles at Rooty RSL 2010 and Caboolture Urban Country Music Festival and won the inaugural Goulburn Valley Battle of the Youngstars at the Tamworth Country Music Festival 2011.

Along with many other awards she has been involved with Skeed Productions and VIBE venue consultants. Ashley has been named one of today’s most unique and exciting performers continuing to impress audiences each performance with her versatility and stage presence.

Currently at 21 years of age Ashley is has completed her Bachelor of Music at the University of Newcastle, majoring in jazz piano and is currently completing her Master of Teaching at Australian Catholic University. Ashley has been involved with numerous duo and band acts. As of late she is focusing on her solo performance and collaborating with Nothern Beaches guitarist Ziggy McNeill.
